About Panchjanya Magazine
Panchjanya is an Indian weekly Magazine in Hindi, published by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Panchjanya was launched under the editorship of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the auspicious Makara Sankranti day, 14th January, 1948. The inaugural cover page copied a picture of Lord Krishna and the weekly boldly declared that its objective was to pursue idealism based on patriotism and to uphold the cultural heritage of India.
Political thinkers and literary figures such as Dr. Sampurnanand, Purushottam Das Tandon, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Jai Prakash Narayan, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Mahadevi Verma, Amritlal Nagar, Kishori Das Bajpai and many other were among the galaxy of writers for Panchjanya.
